i finished writing up my planning portfollio for my film poster .
i took some pictures for my poster that came out well , they were of the main charctars .

1. is the movie title prominently featured? Is the text easy to read?  yes it is big and bold .
2. Are the main actors shown? If so, which ones?   Tom cruise 
3. What is the design of the movie poster? Does it accurately reflect the mood and tone of the film?  yes it is set as a tense film so the image of tom crusie looking menceing does the job .
4. What other images are included? What do you notice about the framing of the images? it has crusie in the middle of the poster to show he is the main actor and its all about him .
5. What text is shown on the poster? Is there a catchy slogan? If so, what does it tell you about the movie's story? the title of the film , the date the film comes out and the name of the actor are on the poster it doesnt say anything about the film
6. Is there any other important information included on the poster? no
7. Why do/don't you think this movie poster is persuasive? i dont think this poster is persuasive becasue it does not show much about the film or other actors that are in it so people may not want ot go watch it .

1.  Is the movie title prominently featured? Is the text easy to read?  The title of the film does stand out because it is in capitals and is in bold writing so your eyes get drawn to it ,Also the words Director and Gladiator are in captials because gladiator was a big hit so this should be a good film . 
2. Are the main actors shown? If so, which ones? The main actors are shown and these are Orlando Bloom and Eva Green .
3. What is the design of the movie poster? Does it accurately reflect the mood and tone of the film? The desgin of the poster is quite serious the images of the are not happy people ,but grim faced and look like they are thinking.
4. What other images are included? What do you notice about the framing of the images? The images are inculded are Two of the main actors in the centre and on ethier side you have battlefields which show that they are more than likely fighting for something thoughout the film .The images either side of the centre are not paid much noitce to .
5. What text is shown on the poster? Is there a catchy slogan? If so, what does it tell you about the movie's story? Text on the poster shows us the name of the film which is easy to read , there is the name of a big actor that stars in the film which will make people want to come see the film and there is another film that is director made and if it was a good film this also will make people want to come watch .
6. Is there any other important information included on the poster? at the bottom of the poster there is bits of writing about the company that made the film , the actors and just credits of people that helped to make the film.
7. Why do/don't you think this movie poster is persuasive? i think this poster is persuasive becasue not a much is needed to be said ,but shows it was ade made by the same man that made gladitor so people will want to go see this .

photo studio

On thursday we went to the photo studio in T42 and took photos in front of a white screen using three different types of light .  there is the soft box (infill light ) which is the one closest to the camera this is used to get rid of shadows   ,the model light is the one on right hand side and is the main light source   and the snood which is the one with the back light and this is used to make the image look flat .

i got him to stand in the middle of the screen and took the image cutting out the bottom half  because better it looks better .

i zoomed in a bit and the light of the model light makes good shadows around the face.

Pringles Pin hole cameras (Camera Obscura's)

to make a camera obscura you have to :

• buy a pringles tube ,clean it out and remove the plastic lid but keep it . 
• draw a line about 2 inchs from the bottom of the tube and cut around that line so the tube is in two peices. 

•  with a thumb tack or a pin make a small hole in the center of the tube with the metal end .
• use the lid as a screen if tyhe screen is clear you may need to use a wax sheet of paper, white tissue which will act like a translucent screen ,then put the lid on the screen then put the two bits of tube back together and tape it . 

To keep the light out of the tube ,use a peice of aluminum foil that's about 1 foot long. then Tape one end of the foil to the tube. Wrap the foil all the way around the tube twice, then tape the loose edge of the foil closed. If you have extra foil at the top, just tuck it neatly inside the tube.


go outside and look in the tube ,close one eye you want the inside of the tube to be as dark as possible so if you have to cup your hands round the opening .when you look though it the the tube ,the lid makes a screen will make the image apear up side down .

 we set up 4 cameras in a line all evenly so we could recreate muybridge's motion images , the cameras had to be even so they would capurte the same thing as the othrer cameras .this when put in order look like the image is moving .
